Your activity:
What you will do
Research and development in the field of process technology for InP wafers
New and further development of various plasma etching processes for semiconductor technology using statistical methods, state-of-the-art analysis techniques such as SEM and FIBE as well as in situ measurement methods such as mass spectrometry, ellipsometry and plasma line analysis
Documentation of results and creation of ISO documents for quality assurance
Collaboration with scientists in the development of novel photonic devices
With the help of a broad-based and experienced team, you will monitor the technical condition of the systems, plan inspection and maintenance work and thus ensure high system availability
Supporting the introduction of new methods and method optimization, including their validation and documentation
Contributing your own ideas, concepts and process improvements
Your profile:
What you bring to the table
Completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma) in a natural science (physics or chemistry) or an engineering science with a connection to semiconductor technology
You have sound specialist knowledge and practical experience in the manufacture of semiconductor components, ideally based on III-V compound semiconductors as well as in plasma and vacuum technology such as RIE, ICP, PECVD, CAIBE etc.
Ideally you have practical experience in the field of analytics such as AFM, SEM, EDX, FIBE etc.
You have practical experience in application-oriented and industry-related research and ideally have experience in the field of process development
Ideally, you are proficient in a programming language
You have a strong enthusiasm for technology and want to understand how things work. This will enable you to localize and rectify errors as quickly as possible.
Very good German (minimum requirement C1 level) and English language skills
Communication skills and team spirit, a pronounced hands-on mentality as well as a goal-oriented way of working and the motivation to think your way into new subject areas

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.
The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
