For our team in Munich, we are currently looking at the earliest possible date for a full-time Electrical Engineer (m/w/d)

QUBIG GmbH is a technology company in the field of scientific lasers with a focus on the development and manufacture of laser light modulators as well as suitable driver electronics up to >20GHz. The devices are mainly installed as subcomponents in larger laser systems, with the aim of quickly and precisely controlling the properties of the laser light, such as its frequency, phase, polarisation and position. The application spectrum ranges from fundamental research (physics, chemistry, biology) to industry (laser material processing, medicine, LifeScience microscopy).

QUBIG has been established from fundamental research and has close contacts with prestigious institutions around the world, especially in the field of ultra-cold quantum gases (AMO), trapped ions and single photons. The company, which is also a state-recognised research facility, combines profound expertise in the areas of laser technology, crystal optics and HF- & HV electronics and is formed by a highly qualified team (PostDocs, PhDs), having in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in various fields of quantum research/technology.

Ihr Aufgabengebiet:

  • Development of analog and digital RF/HF/HV electronic circuits for various laser & Quantum technology applications
  • Refinement and creation of electronic layouts of new and existing products
  • Electronic hardware assembly and minor machining tasks
  • Documentation management of electrical drawings, schematics, bill of materials, technical datasheets and instruction manuals via GIT
  • Taking the lead on research and development projects up to product maturity including the technical responsibility, documentation, production planning and quality control as (partial) project manager

Ihr Profil:

Essential:

  • Sophisticated understanding of electrical engineering
  • Experience in design and testing of digital & analog electronic circuits for RF applications
  • At least one programming language (preferably Python, C++)
  • Solution-oriented hands-on mentality combined with good time management skills and an independent, structured way of working


Desirable:

  • Experience in design and testing of high-voltage circuits & devices
  • Knowledge in the areas of electro- & acousto optics, Laser technology, crystal optics
  • Experience with procedures for optical bonding, wire-bonding
  • Computer literacy: simulation software (e.g. Mathematica, Matlab, COMSOL), CAD (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks), GIT, GUI development
