Light for Innovation – Since its establishment, the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) has developed into a significant pillar of the research landscape in Lower Saxony and Germany in the field of laser technology and optics.

The central research focuses of LZH are:

• Optical components and systems
• Optical production technologies
• Biomedical photonics

Supported by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, and Transport, LZH has significantly contributed to establishing high technology, particularly in the field of laser technology, in the Hannover location and Lower Saxony, and transferring research results for innovations into companies. This has also been achieved through skilled personnel, meaning highly qualified employees who transition from LZH to industry, often taking on significant positions, thus creating a considerable network across various sectors. Additionally, 17 spin-offs have emerged from LZH, providing over 500 highly specialized jobs.
