Brief Outline
The Hannover Medical School (MHH) has developed into an internationally recognized center of top-tier medical care and innovative research since its founding in 1965.
In 2015, MHH scientists secured third-party funding totaling approximately 86 million euros, once again placing MHH among the top institutions nationwide.
Each year, more than 25,000 patients are treated on an outpatient basis and 6,000 as inpatients in the Clinic for Otorhinolaryngology (Director: Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr. med. Thomas Lenarz). Clinical focal points include implantable hearing systems, skull base surgery, and laser medicine.
In this world's largest center of expertise for cochlear implants, over 7,000 deaf individuals have been enabled to live as hearing individuals.
